CHESTNUT

 

Our export variety is the "Marron" type. Turkish marron chestnuts are relativelty big in size, sweet in taste, easily peelable and are considered the best quality chestnut variety in the world. The tbiggest producer of chestnuts in the world is China, which produces a whopping %50 of the world production. Turkey is considered among the biggest producers, sharing about 10% of the world production. Chestnuts are collected from the trees which grow in the Aegean region of Turkey. Availability is from October to January. Transport temperature is 0-2 degrees celcius. Sizing is 56-65, 66-85, 67-78, 86-100, 110-115, 100-130 in terms of nut count per kg.
